next week one of the rarest opera
tlons In medical history, the re
moval of a half-formed baby from
the ebdomlnal cavity of a healthy,
IS months old girl.
Dr. Dlllehunt said he knowa of no
previous record of ft similar opera
tion. The child was brought to Portland
from Douglaa county for observa
tion two week ago when an ab
dominal swelling became noticeable.
X-ray photographs revealed the em
bryonic skeleton located between the
stomach and the rear of the eb
domlnal cavity, a portion of ft akuli,
and the femur and tibia bonee being
visible, he related.
He explained the case as a cel
lular division simitar to that result
ing in the birth of Blameso twins,
except that In this instance one
body waa enclosed within the other.
