Annual De Malay carnival dance
will be held In the Masonic temple
tomorrow evening at 8:30, with man;
prizes and entertainment features in
store for the large attendance ex
pected. Tickets for the affair will be on
sale at the temple. They may also
be procured from DeMolay salesmen
soliciting In the city.
The danca will be held In the
DeMolay hall with the carnival con
cessions arranged in the large dining
room. Approximately ten concessions
will feature games. Ice cream, make
up booth, fortune telling and a nov
elty booth.
J. Wood is general chairman of the
carnival dance. Ticket sales are In
charge of William Myers, Don Herrtod
and Bob Thlerolf; dance decorations.

Honest toil for a livelihood was
emphasized as a primary virtue In
a lecture given In Odd Fellows hall
Wednesday evening by Charles A.
Csltis, elder of the Mormon church
and a member of the Council ot
Twelve, with headquarters In Salt
Lake City.
Mr. Call is is making a tour of the
Pacific northwest area In company
with Preston Nlbley, president of the
northwestern states mission.
Men and women should work hon
estly for all they receive, Mr. Callls
told his audience, declaring that "he
who totls for a living Is greater in
the sight of God than he 'who never
tolls."
Speaking against liquor and . to
bacco. Mr. Callls said: "The lives ot
this world are being- prolonged by
scientists but we destroy all they
do by the use of such drugs." -
Mr. Callls stressed Che need of a
happy home and asserted that "we
should not live for ourselves alone,
but for all those around us."

will Invade Klamath Falls Sunday
to attend a registered trap-shoot and
advertize the big two-day Medford
handicap and Mall Tribune annual
shoot to be held on the local club
grounds at the north end of the air
port Saturday and Sunday, May 39
and 30.
Fifteen or more shooters from
Medford are expected to make the
trip to Klamath Falls Sundsy morn
ing, returning late Sunday after
noon. Shooters not having transpor
tation can make the necessary ar
rangements with William Young at
Young's service shop.
The Klamath shoot and the Med
ford two-day event will be the last
tournaments for the shooters to
warm up their guns for the annual
four-day state shoot which will be
held at Salem this year, June 10
to 13.
The first reservations for the Med
ford shoot were received by the local
club this morning.

Tessltore appeared aa a volunteer
benefactor. The court, upon recom
mendation of the district attorney,
granted Tessltore 'a request to give
Parker a home, and paroled the youth
to him, slightly more than a month
ago.

Tessltore told the authorities that
Parker during his stay wltb him. had
been an exemplary youth, working
hard, conducting himself In a com
mendable manner, and highly appre
ciative of the Tea 1 tore's kindness. The
family was shocked by the sudden
change in htm.
Haah, according to the authorities,
has a police record, and was arrested
two months ago, for a series of rob
beries In Ashland. He was sentenced
to -90 days In the county Jail. The
charge was reduced because of his
youth. With fifteen days remaining
to serve, Haab, while a trusty left.
After a three-day cha.e he was
caught, and a sentence for burglary
meted him last Monday, shortly after
ward he staged his second flight.
RoMlter, a Medford youth, described
by the city police as a "bad one." was
caught a month ago In the act of at
tempting to rob Brawn's. He had hid
In the store before It was locked up.
and was found by city police.

Medford. In addition to son bail,
night pageants, track meets and
other activities will be held uuder
the stars. The field will also be
available for night football and
be equipped with the finest lighting
system in the state, costing in the
neighborhood ot $2000, according to
plans.

league will take place early In June,
with all teams entered taking part
In the gala affair. Competent um
pires will be obtained for all games,
Jennings said. Comfortable grand
stand seats will he available for all
who wish them, and a public address
system will be used to acquaint
spectators with players on all teams,
the plans provide.
Find Body In River
JUNCTION CITY. May 21. (AP)
Ellsworth Phillips and Nell Buchanan,
fishermen, pulled the decomposed
body of an aged man from the Wil
lamette river two miles east of here
yesterday. He was believed to be a
man named Harrison reported missing
three weeks ago.
from Roseburg accompanied by Major
Ronald M. Eberhart, divisional com
mander, for Oregon and Idaho. He
will leave In the evening for San
Francisco.

the eleven western state and the '
Hawaiian Islands, whose headquarters
ore in San Francisco, will be a visitor

Colonel Sansom, born and raised In
Fngland, entered Salvation Army work
