The sheriff's office and stste police
continued today a quiet search for
Elmer F. Hasb. 19, Ashland youth,
who escaped last Monday noon while
en route to the county Jstl, after re
ceiving a three years' sentence In
state prison for burglary.
Many reports have been received
stating that Hsab had been sighted
In various parts of the county. "The
reports Indicate the boy Is In 30 dif
ferent places at the same time,"
Sheriff Syd I. Brown, said. "Wo Just
have a general idea of where he might
be. with no definite clues."
The authorities believe Hssb Is
still In. this section, and Is "lsylng
low," waiting for a chance to reach
California.' All freight trains south
out of Ashland are checked, and a
watch la being kept at Crescent City.

Work was completed today on the
new CCO building erected at the
fairgrounds to replace the' structure
destroyed by fire a few weeks ago
Departments were being moved Into
the building today.
The structure was described
practically fireproof, being made of
sheet metal on the outside and lire
resistant material on the Inside. It
will be used for truck storage, ma
chine shops, store room, paint shop
and office. It Is combined with the
old sheep shed of fair days to pro
vide a building 350 feet long. 94 feet
wide. ,'
The work was done by the army
