BUTTERFAT PROFIT
TO
WASHINGTON, May 19. (AP)
Low prices on butterfats In relation
to feeds probably will continue until
rew crops are available, the agricul
ture department predicted.
The department aald a more than
usual price decline from March to
April left quotations considerably
higher than a year ago, and noted a
"relatively low" butter production.
A decline in the market price of
egga from March 16 to April 16
brought little change In the price to
farmers. A leas than average Increase
In the farm price for eggs waa pre
dieted, with better prices In early
1938 to result from a reduced 1937
pullet crop.
The department attributed a great
er than average rise In the farm price
of chlckena this spring to a atrong
consumer demsnd.
