him he took 40 Ice-packed trout to

show how good angling Is In south
ern Oregon. The fish were caught In
two clays of angling by Mr. IsbeU
and Ernest M. West, navy recruiter
here. They fished In the Big Butte
above Butte Falls yesterday and last
Sunday.

Baseboard Stolen D. R. Smith of
Talent reported to city police yes
terday that some time Wednesday
night 300 feet of used baseboard was
stolen from a residence he Is re
modeling at 830 Bennett street. The
board was one Inch by eight Inches
and had been set outside the house,
he told police.
Brandon Calls Here Carter Bran
don, former Medford resident and
high school athlete, was a visitor here
yesterday. He is now a member of
the. firm of Thompson it Brandon.

San Francisco. He was returning to
San Francisco after making a busi
ness tour through the northwest.
Business, on the coast Is on the up
ward trend and shows definite signs
of further improvement, he stated.

Sisters Visit C. W. Long of Tal
ent was host to his two sisters from
Los Angeles last Saturday. Mr. Long
accompanied them to St. Helens Sun-
day to attend the funeral of their
mother. He returned home Wednes
day, accompanied by his daughter.
