Forest Creek school baseball team snd
fans motored to Ruch, April 28, and
played a return game. Ruch won,
36 to 9. Forest Creek won on their
own grounds the previous week. Those
who made the trip were: Elva Hen
derson. Mrs. John Black, Mrs. Ivan
Davles, Mrs, Paul Pearoe, Mrs. Pearl
Pearce, Mrs. Jack Crump, the teacher.
Mrs. Armprlest, and the children of
Forest Creek school.
Mrs. John Blsck attended home-
makers' day. May 3. at the court
house, as speclsl delegate from the
Applegate home extension unit.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Davles were
hosts at & delightful outdoor dinner
Sunday, the occasion being In honor
of the birthday of their small daugh
ter Louvelle. About 36 guests en
Joyed the day. The feature of the
afternoon was a baseball game be
tween the school team and a team
of grownups. Those on the grown
up team were: Mrs. Ivan Davles.

surprise handkerchief shower April
29. her birthday, given by pupils of
Forest Creek school, their mothers
and friends under the supervision of
Elva Henderson. After a brief pro
gram presented by the children, com
posed and managed entirely by them
selves, refreshments of cake and
cocoa were served by Mrs. Ivan Davles,
assisted by Mrs. Paul Pearce, Mrs.
Pearl Pearce and Mrs. Madsen.
Edsel Pearce sustained a severe cut
on his foot while wading In a ditch
near the scene of the Davles picnic
Sunday. First aid was administered
at once by Mrs. Paul Pearce and the
boy was removed to bis home, The
Injury is healing satisfactorily. The
accident was thought to have been
caused by submerged glass.
Mrs. Elva Henderson was called to
Ashland, April 28. by the sudden and
serious Illness of her mother. She
returned May 1 as the condition of
her mother remains about the ssme.

the 4-H fair and visiting friends;
Annual art exhibit was held at the
school April 28. Songs were sung
and folk dances given by the upper
grades. The first and second grades
advertised Oregon with large crayon
pictures drawn by David McGonagle,
Leola Poole, Donald Woo ten, Freddy
Tedrlck, David Dow, Joan Crawford,
Ronald Owens, Tommy Owens and
Derva Jeanne Sater.
Sydney Nedson won first prise with
her cookies at the 4-H exhibit April
28.

William Healy of Boise, Idaho, to
the bench for the ninth circuit court
of appeals at San Francisco.

will be held tomorrow night and
Friday afternoon and evening.

safety expert with the state Indus
trial accident commission, will bo the
principal speakers at the banquet,
coming here especially for the occa
sion from their Salem headquarter.
They will speak on subjects pertain
ing to .the state apprenticeship pro
