generations of the Spode-Copeland
family and the nam "Spode" has
become a hallmark of excellence.
John F. Lawrence said today. Orig
inal hand-painting of thla fine china
offers beauty and Individuality that
lend personal charm to a product
that la rich In traditions, since the
design of tsble service should har
monize perfectly with both table dec

of rooms. Spode features a wide se

never discontinued, Mr. Lawrence
stated.
Due to the fact that the display of

the best solution would be for the
county court to set aside several
worthless pieces of land In various
parts of the county for public dumpa.
for there will always be city residents
who object to paying for the removal
of garbage, and fahmera who do not
think It paya to fertilise their own

Anawer to Marie N. D'Alblnt
To the Editor:
I'm afraid, lady, you took my letter
a little too seriously, overlooking the
satire. The facts were token from
Compton's Encyclopedia. Vols. 6 and
7. If anything was misstated then
Compton'a must be wrong. You tell
them about It If, they are not dead.
Did I not say that Shay's rebellion
was before the constitution was In
operstlon. The constitution Is the
Articles of Confederation after It was
revised. It took years to revise them
to suit esch state aa they were unit
ed. And Shay's rebellion was one of
the things that helped to change It.
The delegate did not revise anything
casually: It took outside Influence.
Taft made It possible for the peo
ple to elect their representatives In
stead of them being appointed by
congress, is that not changing the
constitution?
When people say "the president
did this or he did that." Is It not
understood that It passed with the
two-thirds vote of congress? You say
newspapers should not publish com
munications when they are wholly
wrong. Well now. dear lady, would
fAPRTL 29. 1937.
that be "constitutional?" Who Is
there to say that another is wholly
wrong? Even a nit-wit might have
a sensible Idea about at least one
thing. And Just because one person
does not see like -another, la no ex
cuse for them to abuse the rights
of free speech as set down in the
first amendment to the U. 8. consti
tution by calling them names.
The constitution does say that
"the president has the power to elect
ambassadors and Justices of the su
preme court and other officers of the
United States whose appointment la
not otherwise provided for In the
constitution." By the approval of
congress, of course, aa In all thtnga.
that la understood.
'I did not mean that It waa In the
constitution that anyone may dis
obey any law, pleading It was un
constitutional. It was implied In
the article on the "Fundamental
Laws of the Nation." g
We have the beat government hi
the whole world, no doubt of It. But
that does not mean that It la In
fallible. If It wasn't for the rebel
lioua and the radicals, it would not
have been as It Is.
