Meteorological Report
A tentative roawr of offtcera who
will be here Tuesday, April 30, with
the 30th Infantry when tt encamps
in Medlord en route to Port lwla
from the Presidio of San Francisco
has been announced by Col. Irving J.
phllllpson, commander of the regi
ment. The regiment will be going north
to Join other unite of the third di
vision In the first big mobllzatlon
of the division since the world war.
Medford Is planning a number of
activities to entertain close to 75
officers and 1400 enlisted men during
their overnight stay here.
Following Is a tentative list of of
ficers who will be here with the regi
ment. Sixty-five officers appear on
the list but others will probably be
added before the regiment leaves San
Francisc as Colonel Phllllpson stated
he plans to bring about 75 officers.

to tell the entire story ot the slaying
of Deputy Jackson, and the wounding
of Deputy J. D. Cempton. The two
deputies were shot In a pistol battle
on a road near Chehalls last Wed
nesday morning.

wooded district above Ortlng. where
Ryan said he and the fugitive parted
Tuesday morning, with Seelert nurs
