slipping cable Knocked two men from
Bonneville dam Into the Columbia
river last night and both drowned.
The body of one, Eric Nyberg, was re
covered but that of the other, Mil
lard Wallace, has not been found.
The men were removing a piece of
temporary construction between the
piers when the accident occurred.

be first choice to attend all Cavemen
publicity activities during the coming
year, chief of which Is participation In
the dedication exercises of the San
Francisco bridge. The new queen, to
gether with her royal court, were en
tertained April 4 at the Oregon Caves
with a trip through the caverns and
lunch at the chateau. They were es
corted by Chief Bighorn and Mrs H.
S. Bullock, Ex -Chief Bighorn and Mrs.
W. M. Moses, keeper of the Wampum,

Williams ladles club gave an en
tertainment at the Community ball
Saturday evening which consisted of
several musical seleotlons with Mrs.
Butts at the piano, Mrs. Hunter, vio
linist, Mr, Flck, clarinet, Orvll Lew-
man, trombone. Also presented were
several exceedingly Interesting and
amusing skits. The evening was
greatly enjoyed by all present. Pro
ceeds amounted to more than 930.00.

The plants were set early In March,
covered with hot -caps and have now
burst the paper coverings and are
emerging, a dark green and healthy
color and will soon begin to head.
So far as can be learned, the apri
cots and peaches in this precinct
have not been Injured by the cold,
and U nothing more happens there
will be a bumper crop this season!
Prospective land buyers are coming
every few days to look at some of
the fine little garden tracts along
the ' highway between Phoenix and
