At Recent Session
Mrs. Charles T. Sweeney was host
ess to a large group of members and
guests of the Jackson county medical
' auxiliary at her home Wednesday
afternoon.
Luncheon waa served the group
preceding the setalon.
Principal guest of the afternoon
was Mrs. B. D, Adams of Klamath
Falls, state medical auxiliary presi
dent. Mrs, Adams discussed auxiliary
activities as did also Mrs. Osborne
of Klamath Falls, also a guest of the
group,
Mrs, H. R. Prentice presented ac
cordion solos and Mrs, Harold Olllls
aang "Green Depths," by Pomar, and
Aa X Went a'Rolling," by Brahe.
Also appearing on the program was
Mrs. B. A. Woods of Ashland, who
gave a commentary and piano solo.

Young Couple Wed
In Klamath Falls,
Surprising Friends
Coming as r surprise to their many
friends In the valley was the marriage
Friday afternoon In Klamath Falls
of Miss Ruth Clement, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Clement of 1223
West Main, and Martin Clogston. son
of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Clogston of
Jacksonville hill road.
The young couple who were unat
tended were united In marriage by
Rev. Harrell of Klamath Falts at one
thirty Friday afternoon In the pres
ence of only a few members of their
families and close friends.
They left Immediately on a honey
moon trip In the south after which
they will be at home In Bly, Oregon.
Mrs. Clogston was gowned In royal
blue brocade taffeta with matching
accessories and wore a corsage of
gardenias. Her going away costume
7.bm also of blue.
Motoring over to Klamath Falls
for the wedding were Mrs. Norman
Judy, sister of Mr. Clogston, Mrs, C.
W. Ouches and Harold Clement, slater
and brother of the bride.
Mrs. Clogston graduated from the
Medford high school in 1931 and has
spent most of her life here. She
attended the Willamette university
In Salem where she was a member of
Delta Phi sorority,
Mr, Clogston came to the Rogue
River valley from Colorado and has
made his home here until a year or
so ago when he went to Bly to enter
the lumber industry.

Members of the Naiarene church
will be hostesses to the Women's
Christian Temperance union for the
meeting Thursday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock, according to announcement.

School Curriculum Trends
S. R. Hedrick, superintendent of
city schools, Is to be the principal
speaker on the program being ar
ranged for th meeting of the Junior
High School Parent -Teacher associa
tion Friday evening at 8 o'clck In the
school auditorium.

opment, outlining alms and purposes
of the curriculum, modern trends In

essary to keep step with changing
social conditions. .

Christmas Activity
Wednesday Evening
Detailed plans for Christmas activ
ities were outlined at the meeting of
Lady Lions Wednesday evening at the
home of Mrs. Charlea Reamea.
Construction of doll clothes and
dressing of dolls to be given to chil
dren of needy families at Chrlutmas
was also part of the evening's activ
ities. Special decorations were arranged
at the Reames home for Wednesday
evening's affair, a Christmas tree
completing the seasonal atmospnere.
Mrs. Jack Amstey assisted Mrs.
Reamea aa hostess. Refreshments
were served to the group late In the
evening.
Officers of the group have an
nounced: "The Lady Lions are asking the
public's cooperation In the donation
of discarded toys which, If left at the
firemen's hall, will be reconditioned
and prepared for Old Santa's pack,
to gladden the hearts and make hap
py many little boys and gins at
Christmas time."
