constitutional crisis caused by the
monarch's friendship for Mrs. Wal
Ua Simpson.
The plain spokon, pipe-smoking
premier was believed to have in
formed the bachelor king that the
cabinet, with the backing of par
liament, is prepared to resign un
less Edward surrenders any plan
he may have to wed the American
born divorcee.
