Mr. Hardtn. a former principal of the
Monroe high school In Washington,
has been on duty as adviser In both
the Port Lewis and Vancouver Bar
racks districts.
Officers Moved Lieut. LeRoy Q.
Cronkhlte, who has been on duty at
Camp South Umpqua Palls, has been
transferred to Camp Rand, according
to local CCO headquarters. Lieut.
Theodore V. Prochazka is being moved
from Gasquet to wimer, and Lieut.
Richard E. Drum my la being trans
ferred from Wlmer to Gasquet.
To Attend Meet-rEugene O. Golden,
educational coordinator for the Med
ford CCC district, and Donald Mace,
adviser for headquarters detachment,
will attend an educational conference
at Vancouver Barracks, Wash., No
vember 33 and 34. Both will appear
on the program of the conference, to
be attended by representatives of
Vancouver Barracks district camps.
Plane Held Over Unfavorable
weather conditions in the northern
part of the state caused the ground
ing of the 5:18 p. m. United Air Lines
northbound plane here yesterday, T.
M. Howard, J. M. Doober, W. E. Dar
den and S. Hotellng, passengers on
the plane, continued north by train.
The ship took off for the north this
morning.
Gates Returns C. E. Gates, Pord
dealer here, returned to Medford yes
terday from Detroit, Mich., where he
attended a sales meeting and pre
view of the 1037 models. He traveled
by train to Portland and from there
to Medford In a new Ford de luxe
sedan. Mr. Gates left here for the
east with Mrs. Gates, on November
1. Mrs. Gates will remain In the
east until December 1, visiting five
sisters she had not seen in 14 years.
Her sisters reside in and near Star
City, Ind. One of her sisters, Mrs.
George w. Redvlck of Star City and
Winona Lake. Ind.. will accompany
her on her return trip for a visit
here. After visiting here Mrs. Red
vlck will go to Los Angeles where
she plans to spend the winter with
her son.

Although dividends, bonuses and
wage increases rolled up to record
proportions today, the stock market
tripped over selling which effectively
halted the surging advance of many
recent leaders.
The sharp upturn of ths past two
sessions, brokers said, induced some
traders to cash In part of their pro
fits. Trends were uneven at the
close. Transfers approximated 3,900.-
000 shares.
