small boys, Orlsndo Carmon, 16. and
Floyd Carmon, 11, wore found dead
from exposure today near Spanlsn
Fort, In an isolated wooded area.
The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Carmon, had aent the boya to the
farm late Wednesday to watch the
furniture during the night. They
failed to return Thursday. Search
for them began today.
John Foster, farmer, found the
bodlea. Orlando was lying face down
ward. The younger boy had fallen
backward with his knees doubled
under him, aa though he had been
praying when he died. Officers be
lleved they died of exhauatlon, ex
posure and cold after losing their
way In the wood during a rainstorm

her trip to Portland. It waa undecid

The boys' ootette of the local high
school held a party last Tuesday eve
ning at the home of Mra. Ray Hun
aaker, their director. There were
cbout 30 young people present. The
evening wsa spent In stunts and
singing, followed by refreshments.
Mrs. Ora Neldermoyer who has been
oonflnod to a hospital for some time
on account of au auto accident re
turned to her home last week. She
will be required to wear a cast on
her leg for some time longer however.
On the evening of Oct. 80, the local
Home Economics club will give
dance at their Orange hall with

Grants Pass to attend a rally of th
Crater Lake union. They were vic
torious In bringing home the shield
again, won by having the largeat
percentage of membera present at the
rally.
Messrs. Robt, Metzger and Wayne
Martin returned Friday from their
potato picking Jobs In the Klamath
oountry.
While breaking a colt Friday, Leon
ard McEee had the misfortune to be
thrown off Into a rock pile. causing
him to suffer severe bruises and
head lacerations which required 13
stitches to be taken.
Win Arnold haa gone on a fishing
trip to the coast. He expects to be
absent several days.
Both the boya' and girls' glee clubs
of the local high school, attended the
Applegate fair Saturday night and
sang aeveral numbers.
On Thursday, the local high school
football playera drove to Ashland and
tangled with tha Ashland high school
second string. Tha score waa 0-0
The Bellvlew grade school baseball
team played, against the 6th grade
team here on Thursday and were
beaten by a score of 13-3.
Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Blgham and
son of Mendocino, Calif., arrived Fri
day evening for a visit at the home
of Mra. Henrietta Flck.
Fourteen ladlea attended the meet
ing of the homo extension unit held
at Mra. Emma Conger's home Tburs-
oay. Mra. Conger and Mrs. peters
demonstrated vegetable cookery. The
next meeting will be held Nov, 13 at
the courthouse. The subject will be
''Food for the School Child." and tbe
leader will be Mrs, Mabel Mack.
