warning sign on the dangerous curve
north of Jackson Hot springs on the
Paclflo highway. Several accidents
have occurred on the curve recently,
one of them ending in a fatality.

Chamber Publicized Each month
tho Chamber of Commerce of the
United States send to all members a
list of 14 outstanding ideas or ac
complishments of the various units
throughout the country. This month
the Jackson County chamber of Com
merce heads the list for its plan ot
teaching fly-casting and hunting eti
quette to students of Medford high
schol, the aim being to develop gen
uine sportsmanship and to foster a
greater interest in outdoor sport. The
plan was projected a few months ago
by Dr. Charles w. Lemery. It Is an
tlclpated that the local chamber will
receive numerous Inquiries about tlw
plan as a result of the national cham
ber's circular letter,
Wledman Due Dr. D. E. Wledman,
educational coordinator of the 9th
corps area, was expected to arrive
here from Son Francisco r-.eadquartets
this afternoon for a conference with
Eugene C. Golden, educational co
ordinator of the Medford CCC dis
trict, and other district executives.
Dr. Wledman was formerly adviser at
Camp Humbug Mountain and Camp
Sebastian and was the first district
educational coordinator here. He was
transferred from Medford to Omaha.

coordinator of the 7th corps area, On
October l he was appointed coordin
ator of the 9th corps area to replace
Dr. J. B. Gritting, who nao resigned
to become president of an agricultural
college at Vlcosa, state of Mlnas Qe

ed to remain here through' tomorrow

ford callers In Ashland Wednesday
evening. They were dinner guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Guet2laff while

To Hear Nominees Candidates'
Night will be observed by the Fra
ternal Order of Eagles at west Main
street lodge hall at 9 o'clock this
evening. All candidates for public
office are Invited to address the aerie
and its auxiliary, each speaker being
limited to a live-minute talk.
Captures Grouse E. N. Butler of
Ashland was today in poisussion of a
blue grouse which offered no resist
ance when Mr. Butler picked it up
after It had alighted in tho shrub,
bery of a neighbor's yard. The grouse
does not like captivity, however, ana
spends most of Us time trying to es
cape from its pen, although it has
several China pheasants for com
panions, it could not be determined
where the grouse came from or why it
happened to alight so close to a residence.
