a late break today and many early

Continued upward trend In real
estate was foreseen today by J. H.
Fletcher as he announced a material
liquidation of properties owned by
the Jackson County Building & Loan
association of which he Is secretary
and manager.
From January 1 to June 30 the
association disposed of 31 of Its prop
erties for (84303.79, Mr. Fletcher
said. Sales have been made at an
accelerated pace, he emphasized, as
shown by transactions since the first
of the year. From July 1 to Septem
ber 30, the association sold 32 prop
erties for W7.60O he stated.
On December 31, 1935. the assoc
iation had on hand 119 properties
with a book value of $224,669.55, Mr.
Fletcher related. On September 30 It
had on hand 83 properties with a
book value of (78,939.62, he added,
transactions other than sales also
having been consummated during
the period. This represented a liqui
dation of $145,729.93 In the associ
ation's realty holdings in nine
months, he pointed out.
"Sales have been good and are
.continuing so," Mr. Fletcher said.
"Those buying properties are paying
a large percentage of the purchase
price' In cash.
"We haven't a vacant property on
our books. Rents are definitely up
and are now established on a higher
level. We haven't had any ' small
acreage tracts on our books for some
time. There continues to be a strong
demand for auch properties."
