was wholly a success. Thirty of last
year's eighth grade graduates were
given tho "works" by the eager upper
classmen. The party was sponsored by the
sophs, and Jack Hamilton, with ths
help of Ernest Bell, AmU Qunter.
Buster White and Joe Beach, put the
freshmen through various btunts. All
the upper classmen fully xJoyed see
ing the poor lads and lassies In such
an embarrassing state, mich as roll
ing a football down a straight line
with their noae. Two new teachera
wero forced to take the "works" with
the rest of the unfortunates. Mi as)

Oood sportsmanship waa shown by
both the "freahlea" and their tor
mentors.. Everyone had a good time,

groups. Observance of fire prevention
week, which closed wtih an assembly
in which the students heard Mr.
Deuel and an educational movie,
"Silent Enemy," which netted the
student treasury $7, are post events.

An Indian operetta, "Dawn Boy,"
will be presented by the sixth, sev
enth and eighth grades. The two
leading roles will be portrayed by
Lester Wundt and Marjorlo Hackerett.
A chorus of approximately 60 will aid
them.
Money gained from Che operetta.
will be used to purchase grade school
athletle material.
Alma Ayres does well as the pianist
and of eourse the operetta Is under
the able direction of Mrs. Florencje
Hunsaker.
