WIFE OF MAGICIAN
FOR LAST SEANCE
HOLLYWOOD. Cal. (UP) On Hal
lowe'en night. October 31, Mrs. Harry
Houdlnl, widow of the celebrated
magician, will make a final attempt
to establish contact with the spirit
of her deed husband, she announces,
Furthermore, she says, it will be
"seance to end all seances."
If no response is received at that
time, Mrs. Houdlnl declares she will
make no further effort to that end
In addition, she hopes that it will
end the stream of persons who come
to her constantly with the declara
tion that they havo been in contact
with ths spirit of the magician. At
the present time she declares she is
approached by them every day.
Hallowe'en night of this year will
be exactly the 10th anniversary of
the death of Houdlnl. The attempt
to establish a contact with his spirit,
Mra. Houdlnl explains, Is the result
of an agreement made with her hus
band before he died, when pre-ar
ranged signals And other details of
the attempt wem established between
them.
"I want to hold the attempt In
the open air so as many people aa
possible can be present," says Mrs.
Houdlnl. "But I won't accept any
message aa authentic unless It comes
to me."
For the past 10 years, Mrs, Hou
dlnl says, a light has burned in Hou
dlni's shrine at the Laurel Canyon
home near Hollywood.
"But If Houdlnl does not answer
at this one last seance thero will be
no need to keep the light burning
longer," she states.
"October 3 1st la Hallowe'en, and
If a spirit won't come then, I don't
think there's much chance It ever
m'lll." la her final conclusion on the
siibfert.
