Rialto To Show Double Features On All Programs Beginning Today

Today marks a new period of en
tertainment for patrons of the Rialto
theatre, with the popular Main street
shown ouse handing local showgoers a
' new policy of double feature on all
' program.
Opening the new twin bill policy
are two feature attractions above the
ordinary in ' film fare. Topping the
h bill Is the new George Raft picture.
"Your for the Aaking," with a better
than usual supporting cast, Including
Dolores Costello Barrymore, Ida Lu
plno, Reginald Owen. James Gleason,
Lynne Overman. Edgar Kennedy.

, A fast-paoea comedy-romance of a
gambler who decides to learn the
ways of society, "Yours for the Ask
ing" shows Gleason, Overman and
Kennedy as right-hand men of Raft
a his gambling operations. The star
meets Miss Barrymore, a society girl,
decides to make his gambling place
"an upper-crust layout" and gets her
assistance. The trio of henchmen be
gin to feel their bos Is falling for
the society girl and to prevent such
an eventuality, they arrange to have
Id Luplno try to win him.
The plan succeeds, for a time: so
well that Raft, believing her to be a
member of the 400, begins taking
Emily Post lessons from Dolores.
Comedy Is added to the situation by
Reginald Owen, wandering salesman
of ten cent gadgets, posing a Miss
Luplno aristocratic uncle.
The second feature on the same
program, "Hollywood Boulevard," Is
a lively and dramatic story of the
motion picture capital.
Famous screen personalities of the
past and present appear In the pic
ture et against the background of
the stars' famous promenade, and
backstage In the studios. Tne story
concern the comeback of a fallen
screen Idol, and the price be pays
to make good.

policy, "The Return of Sophie Lang'
and "Lady Be Careful" will be on
the same bill Wednesday and Thurs
day. With Gertrude Michael again play
ing the part of the notorious Sophie
Lang, International Jewel thief now
reformed: Ray Millard a the young
man with whom she falls In love:

county will start plans for active
participation in the presidential
campaign with the arrival here to
morrow of Mrs. William Evans, of
Los Angeles, speaker and organiner

of Portland, vice -chairwoman of the
Republican star central committee.

aa. The tranaactlon was consummat
ed through direct negotiation.
The property, formerly known u
the Bodge farm, comprUes 128 acre,
and la situated a mile west of the
city. It la considered one of the best
general farms in the valley. On the
property are a granary, pump house
and barn. The residence was de
stroyed by fire some yeara sgo and
has nerer been rebuilt.
The lsnd has been kept under cul
tivation and was planted this year to
barley and oate. It was operated by
the Thoreeu brothers as tenanta.
"The reason I sold the ranch la
that I'm no farmer." Mr. Thomas
said. "It has been a source of worry
to me though I believe It Is one of
the best farms In the county. Mr.
Harder bought It as a speculation
and I feel eure It will prove profit
able."

Shooting Of Two

on an open charge here today follow
ing the shooting of two men. Jsmes
Bradford, negro, and Charles villera.
