IN REVOLUTION

Paollno Uecudun, the "Basque
woodchopper" who several times con
tended for the world's heavyweight
boxing championship, was reported
killed in heavy fighting between
Spanish rebels and loyalists at Son
Sebastian yesterday.
Uzcudun's death was reported by
the yon no Courrler, afternoon news
paper. Officials at the popular front
center, wore unable to confirm the
report.
Uzcudun's last fight was with Joe
Louis, American negro who was the
only fighter ever to knock the Basque
out.
Paollno, who collected a fortune in
13 years In the ring, la considered
Spain's greatest pugilist. Until his
bout with Louis, Uzoudun boasted he
had never been knocked off his ft&t.

Harry P. Howe, middle-aged Atlantan,
facing trial on a charge of wife mur
der,, was shot to death before the
eyes of an official escort near the
Paulding county court house today.
Two of hla brothers-in-law surrend
ered.
Handcuffed, Howe ran until he
fell with three pistol bullets In his
back.
Sheriff Frank Couch said the pris
oners were Worth and Plnaon Brown,
married farmers, whose younger sla
ter, Mrs, Hattle Brown Howe, was
found dead In the woods near DaUss,
last April 38. They were held In Jail
without charges.
Officers said they believed Howe
had accused his wife of furnishing
evidence for a raid on a liquor still.
