Medford was reported today by Cari
Y. Tengwaldi realtor, Klwanlan, cap
tain of the guard and notary public.
It's a long story mates; so draw up

go to sleep. The ladles may withdraw
to the drawing room or cavort to the
kitchen.
The other day Claude Steven, fire
fighter and zoo operator, phoned Mr.
Tengwald. He said, "I think you can
sell that house of yours down here
by the fire hall," said he. That
atumped Mr. Tengwald because he
didn't know he had a house down by
the tlrehall.
Not wishing to miss any tricks,
however,' Mr. Tengwald fairly flew
down to the fire hall and surely
enough there stood a house on some
lots the city recently sold through
Mr. Tengwald to a gentleman named
Samson.
Mr. Tengwald then recalled the
house. It was historical. Originally It
was the country clubhouse of Med
ford 's miniature golf course. In due
time It was acquired by the Medford
armory and now, Mr. Tengwald
found, the Signal OH company want
ed it for an office at Ite tank farm
near the fire hall.
The house had one room. It was
made of stucco and weighed nine
tons. It was so historical Mr. Teng
wald had to ponder long and seriously
before coming to any momentous de
cision. The armory board, he figured,
could use the building but then It
oould alao use some money.
Mr. Tengwald decided to sell. It waa
a tremendous transaction. It Involved

BALTIMORE, April 10. ( AP) The
home of Mayor Howard W. Jackson
was bombed here early today, In
what was bellsved to have been
direct attempt on the mayor's life.
The explosive, which police said
was apparently thrown from a pass
ing automobile, landed on the ground
about ten feet from the house.
Mayor Jackson wsa sitting In bed
reading when the bleat broke out
cellar windows and filled hi room
with acrid fumes.
