Golf Luncheon Announcement was
made today that luncheon would be

the tournament will be played, but
luncheon will be served whether or
not playing is under way.

Church Supper Ladles of the Bap
tist church are sponsoring a covered
dish supper In the recreational hall
of the church Thursday evening at
6:30. Each one attending Is asked to
bring two covered dishes and sand
wiches enough for his family and
guests. At 8 o'clock, following Vit
supper, a missionary play. "The Be
trothal of Mat-Tsung." will be pre

class. New CCC Adviser Earl S. Griffin
of Portland, recently appointed an
educational adviser for the CCC, re
ported for duty at headquarters here
today. He was assigned to Campi
McKinley and Sltkum to replace Har
ry Andrewsen of San Francisco, who
has resigned from the CCC, effective
tomorrow, to return to civil life. Mr
Griffin Is a graduate of Oregon State
college. He was an assistant rangor
on summer duty last year with the
Fremont national forest service.

CLOSETO QUOTA
Jackson county's Red Cross fund
for eastern flood relief was augment
ed considerably today with the receipt
of $17 from the Phoenix Thursday
club which raised the money at a
card party for which only a nominal
change was made.
This morning the county fund stood
at $630, only $45 short of the quota
of $674 aet by national headquarters,
It was announced by George T. Prey,
local chairman. It was expected the
quota would be filled this week.
Other organisation contributing to
the fund were announced by Mr. Frey
as follows: Applegate Valley Protect
ive Stock association. $10; Medford
Rotary club, $10; and the" Ladlen
Home Economics club of Jacksonville,
$6. The rest of the fund Is composed
of individual contributions.
