Bride-Elect Feted
At Evening Shower
At Prentice Home
Honoring Miss Margaret Warner,
whose marriage to Norton Forsyth
will be an event of Sunday, Mrs. H.
R. Prentice and Miss Dorothy Pratey
were Joint hostesses last evening at
the Prentice home.
Tsbles were laid for 30 guesta for
dessert at 7:30, followed by bridge
during the evening. The honor guest
was showered with mlscellantous
gifts. Spring flowers formed a charm
ing setting for the event.
Arrangements are being completed
for the wedding, which will be per
formed quietly at the home of the
bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
Warner, early Sunday evening.
' Miss Warner will have as her at
tendant her sister, Mrs. Maxwell
Becker, formerly Miss Winifred War
ner, who with her husband arrived
last evening from their home In Cald
well, Idaho.
The bridegroom, accompanied by
his mother, Mrs. W. B. Forsyth, will
arrive tomorrow from their home In
Santa Rosa, Cal. A number of other
, out-of-town """guests, Intimate school
friends of the bride and groom and
members of the families, are expected
tomorrow and Saturday.
Miss Warner has been much feted
at varied affairs by her large circle
of friends since the announcement
of her engagement several weeks ago.
Hers was among the most interesting
of mid-season announcements.

"highbrow" air to several new mid
season frocks. They are tiny, closed
volumes of black enamel whose leaves
are edged with gold. ... A "belt and
buckle" print Is something new In
spring fabrics. A dark blue crepe is
printed with the design of a red
buckle and a short length of belt In
stead of the overworked flower pat
terns which have been so long In
vogue.
Cork is the next thing to be woven
Into wools. After feathers, halr,,lsln
glass and gold and stiver threads
have all been used. Rodler weaves a
spring wool with thin lozenges of
cork about the size of a penny woven
into the wool. The material Is
shadow plaid.
Pleats play a prominent role in
, spring fashions. Sleeves, bodices and
skirts of day frocks are worked In
fine pleats and evening gowns have
Insets of sun-ray pleating. Short
fan-pleated enpes top several evening
frocks.

Mrs. Cora Crump, of Eugene, who was
the overnight guest of her sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. H.
Miller.
Mrs. Crump returned to her home

Knitting Class
Entertains Tonight
Hostesses this evening will be girls
of the knitting class of the Olrls
Community club, who invited all high
school gifts interested to be their
guests at the clubhouse.
Those who already knit are asked
to bring their work and those Just
learning will receive instruction from
Mrs. Ale tea Vawter, supervisor of the
ass.
It has been planned to make this
social evening a monthly event on
the lest Thursday of each month.
Those In charge state that the social
and educational contacts made so far
have been very enjoyable to those at
tending.
Mothers Club
Announces Party
Announcement is made of the des
sert-bridge luncheon being planned
by the DeMolay Mothers' club for to
morrow afternoon at the Olrls Com
munity club house.
The hour Is set for one-thirty.
Prizes for scoring in contract, auction.
five hundred and pinochle will be
awarded, according to the announcement.
Dance Planned
For Tomorrow Night
Members and thlr invited friends
will be entertained tomorrow evening
at & dancing party being arranged by
Weatonka council, Pocahontas lodge.
Music will be furnished by Dickey's
orchestra.
Initiation will be a feature of the
business session preceding the dance
which Is to convene promptly at sev
en-thirty.
