Fish Pole Displayed A 13-foot,
hand woven Calcutta bamboo salmon
fish pole, made by Arohy Parker of
Central point, was on exhibit today
at the Jackson County Chamber of
Commerce. It Is called the "golden
beauty" because It contains a wrap
ping of real gold leaf. The bamboo
covering Is done In vivid color and
fancy designs. It took Mr. Parker ten
days to make the pole, this being bis
tniro. The other two were acquired
by S. G. Mendenhall of Grants Pans
and William F. Isaacs, better known
as Toggery Bill, the Rogue valley'3
foremost exponent of the Izaak
Walton art.

by colony law to have the ceremony

he-man. The two friends are Insepar

cerned. When the rodeo promoters at
tempt to cheat Wayne out of his
rightful prise money, the two pals
take the law Into their own hands
and take the award from the rodeo
office-at gun-point.
After Wayne and Kansas have left
the promoter's office, two desperados
bold up the place, kill the promoter
and rob the safe of the remaining
money. From this point on the story
la packed with breath-taking dramu.
Wayne becomes an Instrument of
Justice as he paoka the plot with sus
pense and thrill.

Portland, died Thursday at his home,
5235 North Vancouver avenue.
He was born lu this city May 4,
1900, and received his early, educa
tion at the Highland school. He also
was a graduate of Jefferson high
school. By vocation he was a me
chanic
For several years he waa promi
nently Identified with semi-professional
baseball here and was a mem
ber of the Associated OH company
team.
Funeral services have been arranged
tentatively for 1 p.m. Saturday from
the chapel of the Wilson-Chambers
mortuary.
Survivors include the widow Isabel
and his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Peter
Hagen of Portland. Two brothers, Al
fred and Edward Hagen of Medford
and a sister, Mrs. George E. Lexon, of
Stevenson, Wash., also survive. ,
Al.HAgen and Ed Hagen of this city
are In Portland to attend the funeral
of their brother Harry.
