Bing Crosby Film
Pleases Audience
Hunt's Craterian
j Opening their "Parade of Hits,"
jthe Craterlan theatre yesterday, with!
' the showing of "Anything Goes,' I
i could hardly have chosen a more j
suitable film entertainment. The 1
! screen presentation of the musical
I comedy that wss such a pronounced
success on Broadway, "Anything
; Goes" abound In tuneful songs,
I oomlo scenes, and a set of parodies
; on the "You're the Top" hit which j
' are ' riotously funny. If the stage j
j show was anywhere near as snappy J
i and entertaining as the film version, i
it is not difficult to understand why.
It had such a long run engagement.
Bing Crosby heads the cast of fav
orites In a role that affords htm
an unrivalled opportunity to display
bis versatile talenta In song and
comedy. He sings and clowns to one's
h tart's content. Assisting In the gen
eral merriment are Ethel Merman, j
known everywhere a the Broadway
rhythm girl, Charlie Ruggle. Grace !
Bradley, and Ids Luplno.
All the famous Cole Porter songs
which were unlvewally popular are j
heard -In this mirthful picture. He
has provided a number of others
which are equally as good a. "You're
ths Top." "Anything Ooea," and "I
Oet a Kirk Out or You." Additional
songs by other music makers are In
cluded. Outstanding in the lyric line are
the parodies on "You're the Top."
