PARLEY MONDAY
Democrats of Jackson county will
analyze the political prospects of
1936 tomorrow when two state lead
ers will call here on an Inspection
tour around southern and eastern
Oregon.
The Bourbon chiefs are Prank Tler
ney, executive secretary of the Dem
ocratic state central committee, and
la Gosslln, secretary to Governor
Charles H. Martin, who Is believed to
be undergoing a grooming for the
governorship himself when General
Martin steps-down.
The two visiting speakers will be
honor guests at a luncheon to be held
under the auspices of Ashland Dem
ocrats In the Llthia hotel tomorrow
noon. William Grenbemer. secretary
of the Jackson county Democratic
central committee, Is In charge of the
luncheon srrangements.
A delegation of 15 or 20 Medford
Democrats, under leadership of Ralph
O. Stephenson, county committee
chairman, will attend the luncheon.
After the Ashland event Mr. Tier
Bey and Mr. Gosslln will be brought
to Medford and during the afternoon
open house will be observed at Dem
ocratic headquarters, 133 West Main
atreet.
The county committee will sponsor
a public meeting In headquarters at
o'clock tomorrow night at which
both Mr. Tlerney and Mr. Gosslln
' will spesk.'In announcing the meet
ing Mr. Stephenson urged especially
that young Democrats attend as the
visitors have an Important message
particularly for them.
Mr. Tlerney and Mr. Gosslln spoke
last night In Coqullle-. After their
ylslt here they will proceed to Klam
ath Palls snd Important communi
ties of eastern Oregon.

Central point have been accepted
here for enlistment In the Dnlted
States navy. It was announced yes
terday by Ernest M. West, recruiting
officer.
Others selected to fill the March
quota for this district were Dean M
French and Harold A. Gordon of
Klamath Falls.
The four youths will leave here
March 16 for Portland where they
will receive final examinations. If
they pass the Portlsnd testa they
will be transferred to the naval train
ing station In San Diego. Calif., for
.three months of preliminary work.

information and recommendations
worked out by 12 special commis
sions which have been busy since
1928. Upon his return Crater Lake
council will be able to put In ope
ration the new programs.
Ambition Foiled A Suicide
MOSCOW, Ida., March 7. (AP)
Unhappy, he wrote, because he could
not realize his ambition to become
a forest ranger, Arthur Michael
Pecka, 22, of Chicago, killed himself
today on the University of Idaho
campus, police reported.

BE HELD, TACOMA
The body of Harry Foster, Colyeax
Motor Sales company manager who
committed stilclde by hanging some
time Thursday night, was last night
taken to Tacoma, Wash., the home
of his parents, for burial.
Accompanying the body north was
Mrs. Foster, his wife, and her two
children, and Mrs. Foster's sister,
who came here from her California
home to accompany the grief-stricken
widow to the Washington city. '
