of control unanimously voted today
to retain Orvllle V. Gamble as super
intendent of the Oregon Blind Trade
school following a three-hour hearing
ou charge made against him on
grounds of Inefficiency.
While the board of control publicly
disapproved of some practices of the
superintendent and ordered him to
cooperate more fully with the budget
control department and the state
board of control, the announced
statement held the board considered
Gamble "an efficient public official

Most of the pupils who have been

Central Point drange.
At the meeting of the Central Point
Orange, Friday evening, with the
largest attendance in several yeara,
the first and second degrees were
conferred upon five candldatea. Vis
iting Orangera were present from
Phoentx, Lake Creek and Klamath
county.
An enjoyable lecture hour consisted
of musical reading by Janice Heasel
grave, and an old fashioned valentine
box. At the next meeting the third
and fourth degrees will be conferred.
On February 14 will be the annual
chicken dinner sponsored by the
Home Economics club. Dinner will be
served from 6 to 8 o'clock, followed
by a dance, muslo by the Jacksonville
orchestra. These dinners are looked
forward to by meny people through
out the valley and are becoming more
popular each year.
The Southern Oregon Normal Play
era will present the play "Candida."
at Central Point Orange hall on the
