Med ford Firms Participate In Opening of Dr. Hedges New Offices
DR. HEDGES HOLDS LAST RITES TO BE WORK STARTED ON

Scores of personi attended the open
house held yesterday by Dr. A. R.
Hrripes, naturopathic and chiroprac
tic physician. In his new health in
stitute occupying the entire aecuud
floor above the Jacknon County Build
ing Je Loan association at 126 East
Main street.
Dr. Hedges explained the ba&to
principles of the natural healing sci
ence and demonstrated the numerous
electrical machines that are used In
diagnoses and treatment.
In the X-ray room Dr. Hedges dis
played X-ray plates to show various
aliments and related how the condi
tions were cleared by his natural pro
cesses. He demonstrated the X-ray
and fluroscope machines, explaining
their purposes. He gave a brief dis
course on the cold -ray machine used
In treating liver, bowel and nervous
d I Borders.
The visitors Inspected the Vatten
borg colon Irrigator, the shower room
and the sweat box utilized In treat
ing sluggish skins and rheumatic
condl tlons. The several treatment
booths also were Inspected.
In his laboratory Dr. Hedges dis
played the large stock ol herbs he
uses In treating cases that do not re
spond readily to natural processes.
"We let nature perform her functions
whenever possible," he said, 'some
tlmes using the natural herbs to
help. We simply assist old mother
Nature."
In his laboratory he also demon
strated the hydrogen-Ion box which
Is used to show the acidity or alkalin
ity of the body, a blood-test box
also was explained. ,
In the dark room be displayed the
autoclast, a machine, he said, that
draws the energy from the body,
treats It and then restores It to the
body. "It normalizes the electron"
he explained.
In the diagnostic and minor surg
ery room Dr. Hedges demonstrated
the blodynameter and the hemoelm
agnometer. The upper half of the blo
dynameter, he said, la used for diag
nosis while the lower half la used for 1
treatment. By the diagnosis shown by
the upper part of the machine, tne
doctor stated, treatments can be
worked out mathematically. The hem
ocimagnometer, he related, measures
the haemoglobin or energy of the
blood.
The poly sine generator, described
as capable of administering 10 differ
ent treatments, was explained by Dr.
Hedges tn the general treatment
room. The high frequency machine,
used for administering violet ray
dlathermlo and D'Arsenval treat
ments, also was demonstrated.
"We treat all kinds of cases except
ing those Involving major surgery,"
Dr. Hedges said.
The whole second floor was re
modeled by the Jackson County
Building ft Loan association especial
ly for Dr. Hedges. Med ford labor and
materials were used In making It one
of the most modern suites In the
city.
During the day members of firms
who contributed to the modernisa
tion called upon Dr. Hedges to con
gratulate him and offer their felici
tations. A large floral piece wishing
the doctor success was contributed by
the Jackson County Building A Loan
association.
Actor Hen net t Recovers
NEW YORK, Jan. 2fl. ( AP) Rich
ard Bennett, 63-year-old actor, who
has been critically 111, was pronounced
"definitely on the road to recovery"
at Harbor sanatorium today.

company will attend the funeral.
Mr. Thompson had been asosctatetl
with the California Oregon Powet
company for more than 30 years. He
began his affiliation with the com
pany on January 1, 1016. as secretary
and auditor In San ranclaco. In 1930
he was made manager of the Klam
ath division with headquarters hi
Klamath Falls. The following year he
was transferred to the home office
In Medford as assistant treasure.,
continuing with the company hero
until his death. During his years tn
Medford he was advanced to assistant
general agent and then to manage)
of the Rogue River division.
For five years prior to his Joining
the power company staff he was af
filiated with the Mercantile Trust
company In San Francisco, where he
handled Copco accounts.
Mr, Thompson suffered an apoplcc
tlo stroke while In his office two
months ago Friday. He waa taken to
Community honpltal, , where he re
cetved treatment for several week.
Responding to the treatment and
showing steady signs of Improvement,
he waa removed to his home. He con
tinued to improve and he wa
thought to be well on the way t
complete recovery. Last Thursdnj
night, however, he suffered a seconc
stroke and died at 10:15 the following
morning.

est service warehouse near the Mc
Andrewa road under ERA regulations,

build an oil storage and gasoline
filling station at the warehouse, Mr.
Janouch said.

Regular American Legion meeting

American Legion and Medford unit
of the American Legion Auxiliary.
