Lyle Petterson, 14, of Phoenix, Is
still In a critical condition in the
Community hospital after having
been, struck by. a truck .drivrj by
Amos Casobler of Ashland Saturday
night Just north of the Jackson
county fairgrounds.
The boy was on his way to .his
home near Phoenix . on his bicycle
and had stopped to talk to a friend
St the service station at the corner
of the Pacific highway and Stewart
avenue. It. was Just after having
pulled out onto the highway that the
pig van. truck, southbound, struck
him. He was knocked from his wheel
but the truck did not run over his
body.
His condition Is considered so serl.
ous that the attending physician has
not yet been able to move the boy
to determine, by X-ray, the extent
of any possible Internal Injuries.
The . boy's mother, a widow, has
been In bed for over a year with
neuritis, and has been unable to be
with the lad.
