Cannot Defeat End
T am Intereated m the prntin.
tlon of that thing we have rather
proudly called 'Jersey Justice A stay
of a comparatively few days cannot
defeat that end."
Mrs. Anna Hauptmann visited her
husband In the death house today,
and when she came out she was smil
ing happily.
"We shall all soon be together
gain," she said, "and we'll be very
happy."
Col. Mark O. Klmberllng, warden,
said he was convinced Hauptmann
would not change the story he Insists
Is the truth.
The warden visited Hauptmann last
Saturday with C. Lloyd Fisher, one of
the defense attorneys.
Colonel Klmberllng. explaining why
Mrs. Hauptmann apparently was per
mitted to visit ber husband so often,
pointed out that most condemned
men have a dozen or more relatives
who call on them, while Hauptmann
has only hla wife.
The editorial which drew the fire
of Governor Hoffman today began:
"Impeach Hoffman.
"Governor Harold G. Hoffman has
sacrificed sll moral and legal right
to serve as chief executive of New
Jersey. He ahould be Impeached and
thrown out of office."
