Ye Poet's Cornei
Mt. Thlelson
By Mae MacKinnon
A jagged rock upraised
'Gainst tho sheen of tne aj
ethereal blue
Scarred and rent by time
And Winter's blast and rime,
Eons paat has stsod
Mirrored In Diamond Lakes clear
expanse.
Around whose primeval forested
shores
In Winter, mystic silence ever broods.
Snow clad your heights In Spring
And the North wind flings
A misty veil of fog about your crown.
Down your rugged sides, brooklets
come tumbling down.
An hniitfi!ji flowers awaken at
your feel.
Your scarred old head Is bathed In
heavenly light
As the Summer sun's last rays enfold
you
In one last lingering rosy glow, when
day la done.

Thero'o a cabin on tho Rogue
To which my heart will ever turn
And though In distant lands I roam
For that spot I'll ever yearn.
My little oabln on the Rogue)
Oh. little cabin on the Rogue
Tho plnea above you sing an anthem.
While I'm sailing o'er tno muowy

In fancy I can hear them.
My little cabin on tno Koguei
Sturdy little cabin on the Roguel
The wlntor's bloats about you blow
But when Spring comes through
again
Tho lovely flowers about you grow.
My littles cabin on tno Roguoi
Lonely little cabin on tho Rogue.
I can see your windows all aglow
When I come back to you again
As the evening sun sinks low.
My little cabin on the Roguel
Oh, little oabln on the Roguoi
When again I hear the homing call
I know you will always welcome mo
In your lovely spot beside tho fan.
