John Wayne Tracks Down Killers

Surpassing all his previous fine dured so many hardships. The plot
portrayals, John Wayne makes "West
ward Ho," coming tomorrow to the
Rlalto theater, an outstanding
achievement. Seldom has a western
star had the opportunity of display
ing such dramatic ability; his his
trionic talents are usually submerged
in the gun-battles, hand-to-hand
fights and other physical encounters.
The story of "Westward Ho" deals
with the early movement to Califor
nia of those hardy pioneers who en-
opens when John's father and mother
are slain and his young brother kid
napped by a band of desperadoes.
Left for dead, Wayne Is found by a
wagon-train of settlers and nursed
back to health. John takes a solemn
oath to find the murderers and
avenge his parents' death.
Wayne organizes a group of vigi
lantes called the "Singing Riders."
These men patrol the trails traveled
by the settlers and protect them
against hostile Indians and bandits.
