ty Jail cell, unaware of the death last
night of hla third asserted victim.

Van Vlack, alone In " his cell, ex
pressed concern for hla own safety,
however. Sheriff E. P. Prater said,
when told yesterday that Glvena was
sinking.
Van Vlack, charged with the mur
der of state traffic officer Fontaine
Cooper and admitted slayer of his
young ex-wlfe, Mildred Hook of Ta
coma, Wash., was on the fourth floor
of the court house.

Officer Jiunes Hunt and robbed him
