The bridal couple made their tows
before the Immediate famlllea and

The bride wore an afternoon gown
of mercedes blue luxury crepe, trim
med in silver, grey accessories com
pleting the costume. She wore a cor
sage of gardenlaa and valley miles.
Mr. and Mrs. Dow Stone acted as
attendants for the bridal couple.
Bride and groom left Immediately
after the ceremony on a honeymoon
trip that will take them to San
Francisco, where both have many
friends. They will return to Medlord
in about a week, and will be at
home at 723 West Eleventh street.

7500 Miles Covered
By Recent Travelers
Recently returned trnvplers are Mr.
and Mrs. C. A. Marshall and their
daughter, Chelsea Sheridan, and Mr.
C. D. Looney. Going by motor, the
group has traveled 7.000 miles, their
route taking them through middle
western and southwestern states.
High spots of the trip Included vis
its at the international exposition at
San Diego, a Spanish bull fight In
Tlajuana, Mexico, and such cities as
Long Beach, Cal.; El Pnno, Tex.; Phoe
nix, Ariz.; and the Coolldge dom;
Shreveport, La.; McAllister. Okla,;
Hattlesburg, Miss.; New Orleans, La.;
Houston, Ban Antonio and Del Rio,
Tex., and Los Angeles, Cal. They
were gone 26 days.
Mr. Looney ' son, George, accom
panied them on the return trip.

At Afternoon Affair
Latent bride-elect Is Miss Betty
Bardwell, daughter of Mr. and MrB.
R. O. Bardwell, whose engagement to
Eric C. Westergren. son of Mr, Frank
P. Borland, was announced at very
charming affair yesterday afternoon.
Miss Dorothy Roberts was hostess to
the group of intimate friends to
whom Mlas Bardwell made her an
nouncement at the Roberta home on
Crown Hill.
Twelve feminine members of the
younger social aet were invited for
bridge In the afternoon, and were
Joined at five o'clock by the gentle
men of the group for cocktails.
Date of the wedding has not been
definitely set aa yet, but will prob
ably be among prominent spring
ceremonies.
Both Miss Bardwell and Mr. Wes
tergren have a large number of
friends In Medford and the valley,
each being ery well known here.

business meeting.

Kunzman, gave a review of tha
book, "Thinking It Through," a dis
cussion on world peace by Evelyn
Riley Nicholson, The author states
that the way to peace lies through
the molding of the minds of the
future, and that a move 1n that
direction is being made by various
youth movements.

held Wednesday was opened by Mrs.
P. C. Latham, leading the devotional.
Miss Genevieve Brown sang a solo, ac
companied by Mrs. Lois Young.

gram, opening with news Items on
war and peace given by several mem
bers. Mrs. Lois Young read the poem
"How Par to Bethlehem Town," and
sang "Who at My Door Is Standing."
Mrs. Everett Eads gave a paper on
"Let Us Learn More of War That We
May Abhor It."
Mrs. M. E. Olaon and Mrs. 0. C.
Pierce sang "Divine Peace," and Mrs.
Archer talked on what Christian

Is Planning Annual
All-College Dance
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hubbard will
be hosts this week to the Oregon j
State club at their home. A definite ;
date has not yet been designated, but
will be announced later.
Plans are under way for the annual
all-college night dance sponsored by
the club for college and high school
students and alumnae of the valley
The date this year is Friday. Decem
ber 27, and the affair promises to be
one of the most brilliant of the holi
day season.
