FOREST PROBLEMS TO

Christmas tree and program will be
given. Several members who attended
the National Grange at Sacramento
gave a few talks on what they saw
and learned. An nil-day meeting and
a basket dinner is being planned for
New Year's day, at which time the
Gold Hill Grange will Join with Live
Oak. Visitors of the evening were Mr.
Brlcker, of Phoenix Grange, Mrs.
Chaa. Gray and Mr. and Mrs. Flenne.
of Gold Hill Grange. At close of the
meeting, rareshmenta of sandwlchee,
pickles and coffee were served by the
committee. About 48 enjoyed this
meeting.

Lawrence Chris O'Brien of Butte
Falls, charged with driving an auto
with Improper license plates was fined
S and costs in Justice court yester
day. This was a raise from the usual
11 and costs fine. In similar canes.
O'Brien was given until December IS

Frank George Koza, a transient,
charged with vagrancy, was sentenced
to 20 daya In the county Jail and
costs of trial assessed. The complaint
alleged that Kor.a, "failed and refused
to sock employment for a period in
excess of ten days."

By virtue of a thrilling last-gam
rally, when they came from behind
on a 12-love game to win 18-18, Mrs.
Shelby Tuttle and James C. Hayes,
Jr., are the winners of the President's
cup tournament Just completed on
the Medford Badminton club courts.
Before the final night, Mrs. Tuttle
and Hayes each had a score of 20
points toward the necessary 30 for a
win. Each had won two matches, for
10 points, and each had two runner
up scores of five each. In the last
frame Mrs. Ned Vilas nnd Capt. Wil
liam C. Ryan were leading 12-love,
when Mrs. Tuttle and Hayes got their
stride and battled to a win.
It was announced at the club to
day that there will be other tourna
ments In the near future.
