Shirley Temple seems to have no
limit to her resources for winning
and holding audiences. In one pic
ture she dances. In another she
sings; in some pictures she tugs at
the heart strings of her audience
und still In others she sends them
home roaring at her antics.
But her newest starring picture.
"Curly Top," which returns to the
Rialto theatre today for a three-day
run, combines all of little Miss Tem
ple's talents and adds still another.
Shirley sings, dances, laughs and
plays Cupid In bringing sweethearts
together.
John Boles and Rochelle Hudson
nre the sweethearts, while others In
the cast Include Jane Darwell and
Esther Dale.
In Roxy's Role

RANDALL. FEARFUL'
OF PRISON, TAKES
POISOHJN CELL
(Continued From Page One.)
forgive the state of Oregon for
bunging me up. They wrecked my
body and now they want to send me
back and wreck my mind. 1 am sorry
for the way I have lived, but it's
too late now so 1 take this way out.
Remember, crime don't pay." A post
script stated "A pal got this (the
posion) for me. Don't write, address
unknown."
The "bunging up" of his body re
ferred to an operation for cancer
undergone while a county ward,
which saved his lire, but left him In
pain and embittered against the
state which he held responsible for
his condition.
He wrote another suicide note to
a second Medford woman, thanking
her for having been his friend, and
telling her goodbye. A third note,
written in code, was to the rortlaitd
police department.
A post mortem examination wns
made on the body, and the specimens
will be forwarded tothe University of
Oregon medical school for analysis.
A brown fluid found In the mnn's
cell, believed to be some of the death
potion, will also be forwarded.
Jailer Ingllng stated yesterday that
a close check is kept of all visitors
to the Jail, and a record made of
each caller. These records, for the
past week, since Randall had been
held In confinement, were being
checked ye.tevday in an effort to dis
cover who might have brought the
poison to the man. When found,
Randall was wearing a huge ring,
with a small space on the under side
In which a poison might have been
hidden, but It is not yet known If
enough of the poison could have
been placed there to have caused
death.
Randall was apparently a Catholic,
for tn one of his notes he asked that
Rev. Father Black, of the Sacred
Henrt Catholic church here, be noti
fied that he was "sorry." Suicide
bars any person from the rights of
burial tn the Catholic church.
Gall T. Randall, 245 South Central
street, father of the dead man, will
announce the funeral services later.
