Girls' physical education classes at
hlch school, under direction of Miss
Carln DPRermark, have made exten
sive progress In a number of activi
ties this semester.
Due to rainy weather the past
three weeks the girls have been con
fined to the gym. This time has
been spent In learning various
marches and steps. All the funda
mentals of marching were mastered
during the first week and the re
maining time has been spent In
learning steps which the girls will
need and make use of In the future.
The first thing taken up was style
show parading. Steps which varied
according to the costuma and music
were "practiced and mastered In turn.
The wedding marches were also taken
up. The girls were divided Into
groups, and each of these groups or
ganised Into a wedding party. Sev
eral marches, varying in the step
and speed were learned and practiced
both on the level floor and on the
stalrwat.
At the beginning of the year the
classes were divided Into two groups,
one taking up dancing and the other
group various sports. In the dancing
classes all types of dancing were
studied and a number of different
dances learned. The students In the
sports group were offered a choice
of three of the following: tennis,
tenlquolt, badminton, archery, horse
shoes, hiking, golf, and horseback
riding.
