On Furloujrh Lieut. Phllo D.
Smith, adjutant of the Medford CCC
district, left today for Portland where
he will spend a four-day leave of
ahftence with relatives. Lieut. W. H.
Drlscoll will act as adjutant during
Smith's absence.

8heet Music Needed A large assort
ment of sheet music has been re
ceived at CCC headquarters in re
peonse to a request issued, by mu
sicians of the organization. Addi
tional music is needed, however, of
ficers said today, and scores no longer
of use may be left at ths Jackson
County Chamber of Commerce.
Holiday Hours For
Medford Theatres
Medford theaters will run on holi
day schedules tomorrow. Thanksgiving
with two shows matinee and evening.
The Craterlan and Rialto theaters,
opening at 1:45, will have their sec
ond show starting at 3:16, while the
Roxy theater, opening at 1:30, will
have their second show starting at 3
o'clock.
Evening shows at all theaters will
be the same as usual, doors opening
at 6:45 and shows starting at 7.

FIREMEN'S BALL
TO AID KIDDIES
Advance sale 6f tickets Indicates an
unusually large attendance at the
annual firemen's ball at Oriental
Oardens tomorrow night, Chief Roy
Elliott aald today.
Tickets have been selling fast for
the dance which has been an annual
social event since 1923, Mr. Elliott
stated. Ticket may be obtained at
the fire hall or at the Oriental Gar
dens tomorrow evening. George Day
ton and his eight-piece orchestra will
provide music for the dance.
Proceeds of the ball are to be used
In repairing toys for needy children
at Christmas, a charitable service per
formed by the fire department In the
past few years. Broken playthings
are taken by parents to fire head
quarters where materials and labor
for their reconditioning are provided
out of funds from the dance, Chief
Elliott explained.
