Mrs Oldrnburc stated that 245
new members wre gained In Oregon
last year. 40 being from Jackson and
Josephine countie. The last day oi
convention delegate enjoyed a visit
to the children's farm home where
they were entertained by the staft
and children. All were much pleased
with the conditions at the home
and with the fine training being
given the children.

Convention Friday
In National Move
The First Christian church of this
city will be host to the one-day con
vention Friday. November 23, at
10 a. m. ThU convention I one or
325 being conducted In the United
States and Canada from November
to 22. Together they are the largest
convention enterprise of Disciples
of Christ.
The one-day conventions are under
direction of Unified Promotion, the
general promotional agency of Disci
ples of Christ. This year brings the
13th annual series. Until this time,
they have ben under the direction
of the United Christian Missionary
society, and last year their attend
ance reached 60.000.
Theme of the one-day conventions
Is "Recovery and Advance." The
churches of Disciples of Christ are
planning to move forward in a pro
gram of recovery and advance for
the local churches and all world
wide causes of this communion co
operating through unified promo
tion.
In one day those attending the
conventions gain a comprehensive
view of the world-wide causes ol
Disciples of Christ. Preachers ana
laymeu meet together with mission
aries and other leaders, and to
gether they face the responsibilities
of. their brotherhood work which has
crown to reach every state In the
union. Canada and ten . foreign
countries.
