LLI ILilO
A wave of carelessness In address
ing mall was noted today by Roland
O. Beach, assistant postmaster.
Letters have been coming in, both
airmail and regular, with Incorrect
addresses and no directions for re
turn, Mr. Beach said.
This morning two airmail and five
regular" letters, all posted In Med
ford, were received at the postofftce
with -Incorrect addresses and no re
turn address either on the outside
or the Inside, Mr. Beach stated.
Contain .Money
One letter, he related, contained
(5, another (l and a third a check.
Letters that have wrong addresses
and' no return directions are opened
to see If any enlightenment can be
found inside. If no address Is found
inside the letters and they contain
no valuables, they are thrown in the
waste basket, Mr. Beach said.
If the improperly addressed letters
contain money or other valuables,
they are kept at the postoffice for a
year. Then, if they have not been
claimed, the valuables are turned over
to the. government as postal receipts,
Mr, Beach explained.
Many letters posted here have con-
talned Medford addresses that do not ;
exist. Jhe difficulty being, as Mr.
Beach sees it, that "Medford" ts care
lessly written when some other cly
Is meant.
Writers To Blame
This morning an airmail letter
posted here was marked for an ad
dress in Medford which Is non-exls-
tant. There was no return address on
the envelope and none In the letter.
"We don't mind the work those
improperly addressed letters entail,"
Mr. Beach said, "but we don't like to
fail In malting delivery. If we don't
make delivery, we get blamed when
as a mnttor of fact it is really the
fault of the letter writers. We can't
deliver a letter when we don't know
the address.',' . .

Coming Sunday
'"MAT goK"-
Screen fans have been waiting to
see the inimitable Claude U Colbert
do another picture of the same type
as "It Happened One Nlht." which
not only won for her the cfficlal tag
of "the best actress of 1934." but also
brought high honors to the director,
the scenarist, the co-star and the
producer.
On Sunday, at the Craterlan thea
ter, this wish will be made to come
true, for "She Married Her Boss," the
new picture In which she Is starred,
has won the unanimous praise of
critics and public alike for having the
same delightful comedy-romance
which characterized the first film.
Miss Colbert ts seen as a painfully
eflcient private secretary to a young
man with bad digestion and a mem
ory of a recent martial experience
that turned sour. Melvyn Douglas Is
the bitter boss. But while Mia Col
bert sympathizes with his dyspepsia,
she is rather impatient with his views
on marriage, for she finds herself In
love with him.
The home of the bossT who is the
active owner of a large metropolitan
department stcrc. is in a sad state
of affairs. A neurotic sister and-a
spoiled, precocious nine - year - old
daughter do verythin in their power
to make his life mlssrable. The house
hold itself is thoroughly demcralissed.
Then again, he suspects that his
secretary, whom he Just can't do
without, has- been receiving gener
ous overtures from other firms. So
he decides it would be a gocd Idea to
marry her.
But the secretary has no intention
or beinz malordomo bo'Jh at home
and at the office, and gJves up busi
ness for domesticity, much to the
boss' chaarln. In time, of course,
the secretary divines his real reason
for marrying her, and then the fur
begins to fly.
On the same program with She
Married Her Boss" the Craterlan will
show another feature, "Wings Over
Ethiopia," aotually filmed In Africa
and showing the "Inside dope" of
Italy's drive Into the dark country.
