predictions that American farmers
may "ralu less wheat and more hell,"
and demand an amendment to the
constitution if the AAA la declared
unconstitutional, came today from
farm bureau head and an economic
professor In a wheat-state college.
Edward A. O'Neal, president of the
American Farm Bureau Federation,
told a joint meeting of the Kansas
Farm Bureau and extension workers
of Kansas State college that "six
million farmers will rise up almost
like one man and demand an amend
ment to the constitution If the su
preme court throws out the process
. lngf tax."
Prof. w. A. Irvln, widely-known
head of the department of commerce
at: Waslburn college here, warned
that coming decision of the supreme
court on the AAA and processing
taxes are packed with "economic, po
litical and social dynamite."
"Raise less wheat and more hell,"
may be the slogan of the farmers, he
said, If the AAA Is ruled unconstitu
tional. -
The committee on military affairs
of the U. 8. houM of representatives
was expected to arrive In Med ford by
plane this afternoon for a brief visit.
Word of their coming here was re- ,
celved in radiogram this momin- 1
by Major George R. Owens, command
ing officer of the Medford CCO dis
trict. The committee haa been mak
ing a survey of army activities but t
details of their visit here were lack- ;
Ing.

tello, Sam L. Collins, J. Joseph Smith
and Matthew J. Merritt.

The music contests being held each
Saturday night at the Baldwin Piano
shoppe are creating considerable m
terest among local musicians who
play to capalty houses weekly. To
morrow night winners of the three
former programs will compete In the
finals for cash prizes.

guitar, piano ensemble and rhythm
tap dances. The public Is Invited to

Tomorrow morning will see the
opening of the "Morris Top Notch
Eats", under the ownership and man
agement of G. J. Morris, located at
14 S. Central, the space formerly oc
cupied by the Polsr Freeze.
Since the first of October. Mr. Mor
ris has been busy remodeling the
rooms, virtually rebuilding the in
terior. The walla have ' been re
papered and painted, new fixtures
have been Installed throughout, and
the building electrically equipped, i
using the most modern methods 1
available. The floor space has been t
enlarged, and a light, airy kitchen j
provided. .
The establishment alms to provide
high -standard, well-prepared, food, at I
reasonable prices, with steaks and
chops a specialty. A fountain will be ;
Installed at a later date.
Mr. Morris came here from Rose- j
burg, where he has been clerk in the j
Rose Hotel tor the past seven and a
half years. 1

MRS. JOHN HONEY DIES
AT HOME IN PORTLAND
Friends of Mrs. John A. Honey, for
merly a resident of this city, will be
grieved to know that she passed away
at her home In Portlsnd, Oct. .
Mrs. Honey, who resided In Med
ford with her husband until a few
years ago, was well known In social
and church circles here. Her death
was not a surprise, as she had been
111 for some time. Funeral services
and Interment were held In Portland.

college fraternities would mean no
grades for the delinquent student If
recommendations by the lnter-frater-nlty
council should become effective.
While the number aimed at Is not
large, It was said all houses have
trouble at times with students whose
board bills are In the arrears.
