Aid For Ethiopia
GENEVA, Oct. 15.-(AP) The In
ternational Red Cross sent messages
to all national atllttated bodies to
day urging them to hasten contri
butions to the Red Cross lor ma
terials which can be shipped soon
to Ethiopia.
The action followed receipt of
telegram from Emperor Halle Sel
assie of Ethiopia stating Ethiopia
desperately needs medical aid ano
medical supplies.

for a bridge tournament, to be

"Honey In The Horn." a late novel,
was reviewed by Mrs. Halbert Deuel.

Inspect Relief Corps
Regular meeting of the Women's
Relief corps will be held at the Arm
ory Thursday afternon at two o'clock,
when Anna Harmon, of Grants Pass,
will inspect the corps.
Light refreshment will be served
at the close of the meeting, with

Miss Mary Martha Sweeney, who

the main items in the new budget.
The county court holds that the
bridges and roads, as a matter of
sound' business policy, are in need of
repair to retain fee original invest
ment. A number of- bridges are in
need of repair, after several years of
depression economy
Appropriations for county offices
and departments are scheduled to be
about the same as last year.
The relief funds, besides routine
cases, will make allowance for the
county's share under terms of the
Federal Security act, passed by the
Maat session of congress. The special
session of the legislature called for
October 21, is scheduled to enact leg
islation covering the state's part.

The Medford and Ashland Actire
ciubs will hold a joint dinner-meeting
at the Ashland hotel in Ashland
tomorrow at 7 pjn. for the purpose of
discussing plans for the 1938 conven
tion of the Iniematioaai organisa
tion in Medford next summer, it was
announced today.
Dr. Walter Bedford, president of
Southern Oregon Normal school will
be the principal speaker at the meet
ing. ,
