Two army sportsmen who arrived
.here Saturday afternoon for a morn
ing of hunting got the limit bag
of birds yesterday morning and were
off In their Martin bomber for their
home base In the afternoon, much
elated with .southern Oregon as an
outdoor paradise.
The visiting airmen were Col, O.
L. Tinker and Major D. H. Dunton
of Hamilton field, San Rafael, Cal.
They were taken hunting yesterday
morning by Mayor .George W. Por
ter, W. E. Morris and A. H, Banwell
and each one of them, excepting
Mr. Banwell, who did not partici
pate In the shooting, bagged the
limit of quail end pheasants.
The party hunted on the Morris
ranch at Table Rock and on neigh

day.
The visitors were met early in
the morning at the Hotel Medford,
where they stayed overnight, by
Mayor Porter and Mr, Banwell who
drove them to the Morris ranch
where they were Joined by Mr. .Mor

excellent lunch, the officers speak
ing highly of her hospitality and
culinary skill.
"The of fleers were very favorably
Impressed with the outdoor sports
afforded by Medford," Mayor Porter
said today. 'They were excellent
shots and bought down every bird
they fired at. What I liked most
about them was their punctuality.
They said they would be ready to
leave the hotel at 4:30 a. m. and
they were right on the dot. They
said they'd like to leave on the
return trip at two o'clock and pre
cisely at two they took off. We all
had a fine time and I have no
