of the amall town of Mill City In the
Santlom area was announced here to
day by R. A. Babb. Eugene hardware
merchant. The purchase was made
from the Hammond Lumber company
and Includes all properties In the
town with the exception of the bank
and the light and water plant.
Babb said today he planned to dis
mantle the mill and sell the equip
ment. He said he did not know Just
what he would do with the rest of
the town, as without the mill there
Is no Industry there to keep It going.

Saturday for Riverside, Calif., to visit
their sons, Cecil and Lawrence, also
John and Jessie Wright, brothers of
Mrs. Cochran They expect to be away
a month and on their route home
will stop for a brief visit In Cow
chilla with the J. C. Yakel family.
Will Fisher arrived Saturday via
airplane from fJew York, called here
by the serious Illness of his mother,
Mrs. L. W. Fisher, who Is In the Sa
cred Heart hospital for treatment.
She Is reported Improving. The visit
or Is registered at Hotel Valandra, and
having lived here some years ago, will
be remembered by former friends as
"Bill Junior." He Is now engaged In
radio work In New York.
Mrs. W. N. Hover, who Is still In
Ashland taking treatment for an In
jury to her hip & couple of 'years
ago, Is recovering to the extent of be
ing able to stand on her feet for a.
short time, but does not attempt to
walk yet. Friends hope for her speedy
recovery."

4 with a good attendance. H. D. Kem
