ELKS CLUB DANCERS
Cole McElroy's music proved Im
mensely popular with the large crowd
which attended the Elk's club dance
last night. The dance was especially
arranged to take advantage of the
presence of the orchestra which la on
its way back to Portland, following
an extensive summer tour.
Popularity and fame of the orches
tra drew between four and five hun
dred people to the Elk's temple, who
received the efforts of the Portland
musicians with enthusiasm.
Otto Prohnmayer and Sam Carey
were in charge of arrangements for
the dance.
Barking guns, thundering hoofs
and flashing fists bring dynamic ac
tion to the screen of the Rialto the
atre tomorrow and Saturday, where
Tim McCoy opens In the thrilling
western drama "Riding Wild."
Fierce action, superb horsemanship,
a clever and unusual story, excellent
acting, outstanding photography and
beautiful scenery lift this thrilling
film far above ordinary. It Is the
story of the conflict between the large
and small ranchers of the west, prob
! ibly one of the most colorful chapters
in American history. Range wars ex
isted with alarming results that
seemed to overpower the forces of law
and order. The rights to land caused
the Importation of hired gunmen and
many were the bloody conflicts,
j "After the Dance", with Nancy Car
