Point. Mrs. Walter Longstreth and
Mrs. Herman Helm were appointed
to act as a waya and means com
mittee. Mrs. Fred Homes and Mrs.
Val Inlow will be hostesses for the
next meeting, which . will be on
October 33, with Buymanahlp the
main topic.
The first meeting of the Bellvlew
Parent-Teacher association was well
attended last Friday evening. The
Bellvlew 4-H club put on the pro
gram with one of their regular
meetings. Jack Williams, the presi
dent, appolntedBob Dunn, Dale Wil
liams and Marna Byrd as a com
mittee to act with the Orange com
mittee to put on the entertain
ment for the fair on Saturday.
Robert E. Fowler, county agent, gave
& talk pertaining to the exhibits,
which should be shown Saturday.
The officers of the P.-T. A. served
refreshments at the close of the
program. The next meeting will be
on October 13.
Saturday, September 38, was "fair
day" at the Beliview school house
for the 4-H clubs In the southern
part of Jackson county. Exhibits oi
gardening and nil kinds of livestock
were shown. A picnic dinner, spon
sored by the Grange was enjoyed
at noon. All kinds of games and
races were In progress In the after
noon, prizes for which were given
by the grange.
A group of mothers met ftt the
cafeteria kitchen Wednesday morn
ing to can tomatoes for the hot
lunches that will be served to the
pupils this winter. Mrs. Rosen, Mrs.
Williams and Mrs. Newbry furnished
the tomatoes. Mrs, Deadmond, Mrs.
Longstreth, Mrs. Dunn, Mrs. New
bry, Mrs. Byrd and Mrs. Wallls did
the canning.
Robert E. Bell and, son .have re
turned to their home in this dis
trict after having spent the sum
mer working In the lumber mill near
Lincoln.
The Upper Valley Community club
will give its first dance of the sea
son on Friday evening, October 4,
at the club house. Home made cak
and coffee will be served and good
music will be furnished for danc
ing. This Is the first of a series of
dances to be given by the club to
make money to care for the current
expenses. Mrs. Archie Klncaid, Mrs.
Henry Stenrud and Alice Pagel are
serving on this committee.

at home for four days visiting his
parents and friends around Wlmer.
Miss Clara Simpson has been suf
fering from an Infected toe,
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Parker of Med
ford were guests of Simpsons over the
week end, as were aiso Miss Vera
Parker and Miss Irene Davis for sev
eral days. The Simpson had a nice
party and house warming while the
visitors were present.
Johnnie Palmer of Crescent City
has been visiting friends in Evans
Valley recently. He also visited the
Rogue River school white here.
Rose Johnson left recently for a
two weeks' visit In Lot Angeles with
her sister.
Mrs. Alice Keller is taking care of
Mrs. Martin's home and keeping bouse
for the family while Mrs. Martin is
away.
Mrs. Oeorge Martin has gone on an
extended trip to Chicago, St. Louis
and several points In true middle west.
She was formerly a teacher In the
Chicago schools and has not been
back for 23 years. She expects to re
turn about the first ot November via
southern California and possibly
take in the fair at San Diego.
Mrs. Vivian Norman Bar to sold a
part of E. Dawson's place to Mr. and
Mrs. E. C. Sammona from California,
who are building a house on their
land and expect to operate a chick
en ry, specializing in blooded fowls.

Mrs. C. N. Liw's home on Sunday as

the valley Wednesday to visit at the
farm home of Mrs. Donna Graffts of
East Eden. Mr. Graff Is Is a brother-
in-law of Mrs. Graffls. They will
visit Crater Lake and other points
of Interest here before proceeding to
their home in the eastern city by
way of California and the southern
route.
Many of the descendants of pioneer
forefathers from this part of the val
ley were In attendance at the reunion
at Ashland last Thursday. Among
