an Incipient panic at the Harris
theatre today caused by dense
clouds ot grease amokt from the Ho
tel Sherman fire by "bawling out"
the audience.
As the audience grew restless with
the smell of smoke, Hull stopped his
performance, walked to the footlights
and. Instead of delivering the usual
apoech of assurance, began a tirade.

with the situation by telephone.

designed to assure the Industry suf
ficient Income to cover production

mean a heavy loss of business to

stressed rising living costs In the coal

Hills, Calif., sued Robert J. Giles In
1 9 03. Judge Miles Pol n dexter, later
a United States Senator, approved the
divorce, but court records fall to
show the decree was ever signed.
The petition today wa in behalf
of Mr. Giles, whoso home city In Cali
fornia, was not listed. Judge Charles
Leovy refused to Issue "the decree
without notifying Mrs. Giles, end he
set December 6 for a hearing. They
were married at Union, Ore., in 1897.
