PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 31.
(AP) Ernest Anderson, thirsty
sailor who contended he wss pols
emed by purple beer served him,
failed In attempts to receive S978
damages a an antidote.
During the trlsl of his dsmage
suit sgslnst the brewery, Anderson
admitted he consumed 14 bottles
of beer and It was the 15th which
was off color and made him vio
lently 111. He had eaten nothing
but salt salmon that day.
"It may be that the combina
tion of food and drink taken by
the defendant put him In such
a condition that the sight of any
thing off color effected his stom
ach," said District Judge Hend
rlckson yesterday In refusing to
grant damages.
