To the Editor:
If it was not so serious & question.
It would Just be funnier than Amos
and Andy in one of their hilarious
comedies.
But with the winter, which is not
long away and work hardly started
on their projects, they have to turn
down a good per cent of them.
Why do they do this? you asfc.
With all of their five billion dollars
where It was handy for them, they
have Just found out that there won't
be enoiwrh to go around and have
enough left to finance another fiasco,
commencing the first of Jany. 36.
And of course they don't want to
run out of pocket money good tlmos

aa-me aa any other place.
Representative Frank Hook of Iron-
wood, Mich., who gets $833.33 per
month, says:
"I am not ashamed because' my
father, mother and brothers are on
the relief roll. I would rather have
them on honest relief than becoming
thieves."
There is one type of congressman
that had better be left at home, and
T believe that he will, when his peo
ple hear what he has to say. If they
don't. God pity the hungry people
of this U. S. A... if all congressmen
were like him. But, thank God, they
sre not In his class. We still have
lots of good men In congress.
All-of . them. ..while at home this
summer, will find out that their ser
vices will not be wanted any further.
If they on't get busy and do some
thing for the people.
Tf they don't, that pork barrel will
be nothing but a shoat keg and noth
ing to show for who pulled the chunk
out of the hole and let it get Away.

The

patch from Rome:
The Italian government today in- j
dtcated its probable REJECTION of
a league of nations compromise with
Ethiopia, reorganized Its tax program
to provide for war and shifted thous
ands of troops Into Libya because of
a threatening attitude on the part of
tribesmen."
SO, you see, if Great Britain did
say to Italy: "If you persist in
jumping onto little Ethiopia, we'll
knock your block off," Italy Is ap
parently in the mood to answer:
"All right; go ahead and TRY IT."

On the debit side, of course. Do I
you suppose a corresponding figure,
indicating PAYMENT of the debt,
will ever be written on the credit
side?
- -
ANOTHER question:
If all the costs of all the wars
slnee history began were written on
one side of the ledger and all the
benefits resulting from vara were
written on the other, do you suppose
the total of the benefits would come
anywhere near equaling the total of
the costs?
Probably not.
