WILLIAMS CREEK, Sept. 18.

held its regular bi-weekly meeting
September a. Principal speaker was
Judge John A. Jeffrey, of Portland.
The community hall was filled to ca
pacity. A crowd of over 300 listened
to the Judge speak, who afterward
renewed old-time acquaintances and
waa welcomed back to southern Ore
gon. He was billed to speak at Mur
phy schoolhouse Saturday evening,
and at Ashland Sunday afternoon.
Lewis Fields Is logging ton his pro
perty and on Fred Lichens' place.
Al Jonee, pioneer resident of this
district, suffered a stroke of paralysis
at his home last week. He was taken
to the community .hospital at Med
ford, where little hope la held for his
recovery. Hie brother, Lum Jones, had
a similar stroke three months ago,
and is still In the hospital at Orants
Pass, Tom Jones, a son of Al, was
called from Redding to the bedside
of his father.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Roberts anter
tatned at dinner Wednesday, Septem
ber 4, Mr. and Mrs. John Letteken;
Mr. and Mrs. Frank KnuUen and two
daughters of Thompson creek, and
