RETAIL BUTTER PRICES

PORTLAND. Ore.. Sept. H. (AP)

though the alight advance In the
price to producers this week la being
sustained. Price ot 32 centi a pound
tor A grade and 31 wnti for B grade
seem destined to hold. Local demand
tor all grades la excellent, and sup
plies are barely filling the needa.
Wholesale egg market Is approxi
mately the same aa last week, but
withdrawals of storage products have
been so heavy that prices have be
come somewhat mixed.
Eggs graded from fresh stock will
be retailing at 38 cents a dozen, over
size, down to ' 23 and 24 cents a
d02en for extra small. Undergradee
are moving Into shipping channels In
liberal demand, as well as finding
ready acceptance In local markets.
Firmness Is seen also In the cheese
market, with retail advances on all
kinds. Low scoring mild cheese Is
holding around 23 cents a pound,
with sharp at 30 to 33 cents.
Dressed and live poultry Is steady,
with no changea In prices quoted to
retailers. Heavier receipts are ex
pected today, and many houses have
designated it as a speclsl poultry day
with premiums for most classes.
